Discovering Ancient Wisdom: A Shamanic Perspective on Modern Life
Written on
In today's fast-paced world, many believe that our link to spirituality has been severed, leading to widespread suffering. This notion was succinctly captured by an anonymous shaman who stated, "The problem with Western society is that our connection to spirit has been cut or blocked."
Having participated in numerous psychedelic shamanic experiences using ancient healing techniques, I've begun to grasp the depth of this statement—at least from my perspective.
My take on this observation:
Western culture prioritizes comfort. We enjoy a high standard of living, often surrounded by cars, large televisions, and an abundance of (often unhealthy) food. The hustle culture dictates our lives, suggesting that busyness equates to social status.
We find ourselves chasing after the latest gadgets and trends, driven by a desire for more. This insatiable greed and constant distraction lead us to lose touch with our true selves. Advertisements bombard us, telling us what we should desire—a better hairstyle, a fancier vehicle, an upgraded home, or a more luxurious lifestyle.
The core of Western society is fundamentally flawed and often at odds with our natural human instincts.
This disconnection has persisted for so long that many of us are unaware of what we truly lack and what our authentic selves are. A system has been established to mold us into mass workers, who rarely question their existence or the reality they inhabit, merely adhering to given directives.
Public education often serves as a means to crush dreams and imagination.
It's not merely the incomplete curriculum—lacking mindfulness, meditation, or financial literacy—but rather the enforced hours of sitting still, stifling our natural instincts to explore and play.
> "What you really learn in school is to sit down and listen without questioning the system."
This pattern continues when we transition into the workforce. Teachers are replaced by managers, yet the same rules apply: comply, don’t question, and strive for the next promotion.
This cycle continues through generations, resulting in frustration and despair among individuals.
> "Let's take a moment to reflect on our innate human essence and the spirits residing within our earthly forms."
We originate from a shared source. Though we may have different appearances and skin tones, in essence, we are all alike.
Remember the joy of childhood play? We were oblivious to our differences. I recall a girl in kindergarten with darker skin; I curiously asked, "Do you taste like chocolate?" She replied, "I don't know. Do you taste like vanilla?" We both laughed, licking our arms to find out—we tasted the same.
> "Children don’t see differences; it’s adults who create barriers."
Wasn’t it delightful to craft our own fantasies and play for hours?
Children possess a unique ability to remind adults of our true nature: joyful spirits yearning for love within a nurturing environment.
We can gain invaluable insights by observing and listening to children. Some even recall past lives or claim to perceive energies around us. I was one of those children. While it was both frightening and intriguing, my fear eventually dulled these perceptions as I grew older.
What does it mean to mature in today’s world? To conform? To act like everyone else?
I believe that human nature craves freedom in all facets—traveling as desired, discovering new horizons, and understanding diverse cultures. A significant aspect of our essence is to activate our inherent powers.
Some may find this notion whimsical, but allow me to elaborate.
We all possess a physical form with seven key energy centers.
When we nurture our bodies with proper care—consuming organic foods, staying active, and freeing ourselves from emotional burdens—we can awaken our inner snake, referenced in various spiritual texts, which has been misinterpreted as sinister.
This inner snake represents our Kundalini Energy.
This gentle and nurturing energy lies dormant in our first chakra, the Muladhara chakra. Through self-improvement, daily meditation, healthy eating, and playful connections with nature, we can activate this ancient energy. What comes next? I can't say for sure, as I haven't yet fully raised my Kundalini energy; I've only reached the heart chakra due to emotional pain that remains to be healed, but I sense something profound.
I theorize that each of us harbors a unique gift or power, as distinctive as our personalities.
> "I believe we are the enchanting beings often depicted in fairy tales. Our true essence is intertwined with what we perceive as magic."
> "All the answers and the magic we seek lie dormant within us."
How Can We Awaken Our Inner Magic?
From my experience, individuals entrenched in the Matrix often lose sight of what genuinely matters.
You can't see the forest for the trees.
Without my Matrix lens, I wouldn't have perceived the world as it is. My quest for truth led me to ancient psychedelic remedies. My first venture was with magic mushroom tea. After reconnecting with my higher self for two years, I embraced Ayahuasca, followed by Iboga a year later. These three pivotal experiences allowed me to view reality clearly, and without them, I doubt I would have ever recognized or escaped the Matrix.
My Unique Gift
In recent years, I’ve felt the emergence of my own magical ability: Clairvoyance. My dreams have always been vivid, but now, I perceive elements beyond our conventional reality and can sense events before they unfold.
One of the most beautiful visions I encountered occurred after relocating to Australia. It was a glowing green heart chakra symbol.
It appeared just as I was drifting off to sleep; my eyes opened, almost entranced, revealing this radiant symbol. It filled the dim room with light.
Overwhelmed, my heart raced. I was startled and questioned my sanity. What was happening? Am I losing my mind? These thoughts raced through my mind as the vision faded moments later. I realize I must cultivate trust instead of fear.
I am confident that my abilities will strengthen along this chosen path, as I have a clear intention to nurture them.
> "I contend that our Western culture is so fractured that only ancient psychedelic medicine can guide us back to wholeness."
However, caution is essential. Such medicine is powerful and necessitates careful preparation, along with a reliable and skilled support team during ceremonies.
The foundation of growth lies in INTENTION. Without it, progress is stunted, and psychedelic shamanic medicine serves as a tool rather than a miraculous solution.
Aftercare is also crucial, a topic Travis and I discussed in our recent podcast episode of BREAKING FREE.
